Devoted husband, father and grandfather, May 20, 1939, to July 9, 2014.
Larry passed away on July 9, at his long time home in Stacy, MN. He was 75 years old.
Larry was a Professional Rodeo Competitor for 20 years and was the Minnesota All Around Cowboy Champion in 1964. He was a proud member of the MN National Guard. He retired from FMC Corp. after 33 years as a coremaker.
In retirement he continued farming and drove school bus for North Branch School District, as well as Lorenz Charter Co. He enjoyed being outdoors, playing the harmonica and singing.
Family and friends were most important to Larry. Throughout the years all were delighted recipients of his wisdom, humor and simplistic approach to life. His prolific letter writing skills will be treasured forever.
Larry was a truly “special” man to all who knew and loved him, and he will be sorely missed.
Larry was preceded in death by infant daughter Ann Marie and infant son, Bradley Nels. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol; son, Wade (Sarah), son Jason (Jennifer); grandchildren, Alise, Julia, Alex, Abigail, Anna, Addison, Olivia and Amelia, with whom he loved to share his lifelong affection for farming and nature; sister Ramona (Al); brother, Kermit (Carole) and a world full of relatives and good friends.
A memorial service will be held at the family farm in Stacy, MN, at 2 p.m., Aug. 3.
The family request no flowers.
