On July 13, Caiden Nihart, 4, used his left pitching arm to try and dunk fourth-grade teacher Mrs. Giller at the ever-popular Dunk Tank during the Big Splash event.
All eyes were on the first duck to cross the finish line during the Rush City Big Splash event on July 13. Top 5 winners: first place – Jamie Amundson, $250 or Family Pool Pass; second place – Jason Nelson, $150 or Family Pool Pass; third place – Laura Meissner, $100 or 2014-15 Season Family Athletic Pass; fourth place – Dorothy Folkema, $75 or 12-Punch Pool Pass; fifth place – Alissa Mell, Family Day Pool Pass or 10-punch concession stand card.
The annual Big Splash grand finale event was the ever-popular Lucky Duck Race. Paul Kirby dumped close to 500 ducks from a basket at the top of the “big slide.” The crowd got very excited when the first ducks splashed into the water, everyone hoping their duck was this yea
Landon Umbreit, 9, won first place in the Chuck-a-Duck contest during the Big Splash event. His prizes included a beach towel, bucket full of beach goodies, and a pool pass to the Rush City Aquatic Center. To win the contest, he had to throw a small rubber duck closest to the big rubber duck in the pool.
Even a broken arm didn’t stop Natalie Rood, 4, from swimming at the Rush City pool during the Big Splash event. The family event included carnival games, food and all-day swimming passes for only $2.
Fun in the sun was had by everyone who attended the annual Rush City Big Splash event on July 13. Lee Rood thanked the committee that worked so hard to make this event successful.
