From Chisago County Attorney Janet Reiter

The Chisago County Attorney’s Office has issued charges against a Shafer woman who is alleged to have distributed a controlled substance that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man from Chisago City.

Morgan Leslie Pavey, 20, was charged with a single count of third-degree murder, stemming from the June 30, 2014, death of Samuel David Manthey. According to the criminal complaint, the assistant Chisago County medical examiner determined the cause of death was methadone toxicity.
