Fifty-four-year-old Laird Mork, of Harris, sustained non-life-threatening injuries during an airplane crash at the Rush City Airport Aug. 9, according to the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office:
At 7:13 p.m. that day, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of the crash. Members of the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office, Lakes Region EMS and the Rush City Fire Department responded.
Mork was the pilot and only occupant of the plane.
According to witnesses, the airplane appeared to lose control during flight, shortly after takeoff. The airplane then made a hard landing, causing the landing gear to collapse.
The craft sustained significant damage.
Mork was transported to Fairview Lakes Wyoming Hospital by ambulance to be treated for his injuries.
