When Sunrise River Elementary School Principal Lori Zimmerman approached the NBAPS School Board to introduce one of the school’s newest staff members Aug. 14, she said she was “so excited” to have her on board.

The new staff member is Amy Worden, and she’s the school’s new assistant principal.

Zimmerman told the board of Worden’s background.

“She comes to us from the St. Francis School District, where she served in a variety of roles for the last 18 years,” she said. “She provided oversight and training for peer observation, leadership development, professional learning communities, mentor training and directed curriculum and technology initiatives in the district. I’m really excited about the work that she has done around math, intervention and targeted services.”

Worden said she comes from a family of educators, and she and her family members are keyed up for the opportunity she now has in North Branch.

“People are very excited for me because the reputation the North Branch school district has is really throughout the state,” she said. “People are very excited for the opportunity I’ll have to join your team, and I’m very excited to be here.”
