As summer is coming to an end, the Midsummer Ambassadors have been busy with parades and events. On Aug. 2, the Ambassadors participated in the Stacy Daze parade and were warmly welcomed. On Aug. 5, the Ambassadors helped support Gillette Children’s special healthcare by attending Royal Sparkle Night with the Minnesota Twins. The Ambassadors were in the pre-game ceremony on the playing field with their names and community being announced, and the Twins won! On Aug. 16, they traveled across the river and participated in the North Hudson Pepper Fest parade and also participated in their Royal spaghetti eating contest. Past Ambassador Kaitlyn Johnson joined in the fun, being on the Ambassadors’ team for the contest. Although the girls didn’t go on to the finals, they had a lot of fun. Grace Olund had the top time on the team, 42 seconds, to eat a half pound of cold spaghetti. On Aug. 17, the Ambassadors traveled to Chisago Lakes for the Ki Chi Saga parade and then headed to Lino Lakes for the Blue Heron Days coronation, meeting a lot of new friends. The Ambassadors traveled across the river once again Aug. 21 in support of their friends in Cumberland; they attended Rutabaga Festival coronation and the parade on Aug. 24. The Ambassadors will be participating in the State Fair parade Aug. 27, once again proudly promoting the North Branch community. The Ambassadors are looking forward to a fun-filled fall with more parades and events. They are also looking forward to the Second Annual Fall Harvest Ball. The Ball is for boys and girls. There will be no shortage of “Princesses,” as Royalty from the communities they’ve visited will also be attending to make this a special night. The Ball is 6:30-8 p.m. Sept. 26. Parents can sign their “princes” or princess” up through Community Ed or by contacting Julie at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Ambassadors are also taking orders for those delicious treats: Butterbraids.
The Ambassadors will take orders now through Oct. 1, and they be at the Fall Harvest Festival with order forms as well. The Ambassadors want to thank their sponsor sponsor, American Legion Post 85 in North Branch, for all of its support. The Ambassadors are always looking for volunteer opportunities; contact Julie with volunteering ideas.
