The North Branch-Chisago Lakes Robotics Team 3038 had a successful run at the 2015 Minnesota State Fair. After judging, Team 3038 earned a blue ribbon in the electrical division. Teams can chose to enter either the electrical or the mechanical division and are judged against other robots in the same category.
On Sunday, Aug. 30, the team demonstrated their robot three times during the day. The team was unaware they were being judged based on the quality of their demonstration, communication skills, knowledge of the robotics program, and interaction with fair visitors. At the conclusion of the fair, the team was ranked second out of the 22 robotics teams who demonstrated at the State Fair.
“We are blessed to have such great kids on our program. It is very challenging during the build season and the State Fair is our one activity where we go just for fun. What a nice surprise to be rewarded for a job well done. I am very proud of our team and everything they do and we can’t wait to get started again this year,” team leader Becky Leuer said.
Other recent activities included having summer camp in June and manning the brat stand at County Market in August. Look for the team working at the Arts Fest in November.
