Stacy residents respond to fatal crash

NW heroesOn Aug. 27, a fire truck carrying members of the Beartown Fire Department from Baraga Michigan to Utah to assist with firefighting crashed on Hwy 35W near 95th Street. NE. Two of the firefighters were killed in the crash.
The city of Stacy learned this week that four residents of the Sunrise Mobile Home Park were on the scene as first responders to the crash and assisted in removing the injured from the scene.
The Stacy City council paused during the Sept. 13 meeting to recognize and to thank Enrique Cabrera, Kelly Patzner, Ruben Lopez and Sarah Vazquez for their heroic efforts to assist at the scene of this tragedy. Sunrise Estates Mobile Home Park owner Dustin Brakemeier wrote to the council of the incident. Cabrera, Vazquez and Lopez were present to modestly receive well-deserved thanks and applause from the Stacy City Council and fellow residents in attendance at the council meeting.
