c-mattsonConnor Mattson
The band department would like to select Connor Mattson as the student of the trimester. Connor has repeatedly impressed all those involved with band here in the school with his ability to take on challenges others may not be willing to tackle. Every day he gives his best effort, and continues to improve. Through playing with the jazz, symphonic and pep bands he volunteers to take lead parts or solos for the purpose of benefiting the group. Selfless acts like that are what makes Connor stand out among many talented students in the band program. While Connor certainly has talent for performing music, he does not rely on it but continues to improve it constantly. Congratulations Connor, and the bands you play in thank you for everything you do every day! We are grateful to have your attitude, work ethic and musicality each and every performance.

a-savageAnna Savage
Anna has been an outstanding student and real leader in my choir program. What sets Anna apart from her classmates is her desire to want to go above and beyond in all endeavors. She is a student that works hard to learn about the craft of singing, taking on challenges like auditioning for honor choirs. She is on our choir council and makes a concerned effort to make sure all students feel welcome in the choral program. When I am faced with a task that I need help with, Anna is always one of the first students to volunteer to help. She has an outstanding personality and has a bright future ahead of her!

Lily is a pleasure to have in class. She always comes into Spanish with a smile on her face and is willing to try any task she is given. She asks questions to clarify when there is uncertainty. I can always count on Lily to contribute to class discussions and encourage her classmates in any way she can.

Conor Fortuna, a third year German student, has been chosen by Frau Swenson as student of the trimester. Conor is a high-achieving and hard-working student. He is a great role model for his peers and when working on group projects he always sets the bar high for his classmates. He is a creative thinker, always thinking “outside the box” and asking questions that challenge his fellow students and his teacher to see things from another perspective. I look forward to seeing him engaging with native speakers on our upcoming tour in Germany. His exceptional work in the classroom will pay off very soon in real life scenarios.
