Police reports

North Branch police reports major arrests and incidents that occur in the city limits. Chisago County Sheriff’s Office reports major crimes and arrests within Chisago County. The time refers to the time the incident was reported on the corresponding date.

North Branch:
May 8: 5800 block of St. Croix Trl., theft of gas was reported at Holiday gas north. (12:26 a.m.)
May 9: 38000 block of Tanger Dr., theft from a vehicle
was reported at Karis Factory Outlet and Electronics. (2:17 p.m.)
On Grand Ave., a dog bite was reported at Sunrise River Elementary School. (8:35 p.m.)
May 10: On Falcon Ave./St. Croix Trl., a fire call was made. (7:46 a.m.)
On Birch St., assault (not in progress) was reported. (3:50 p.m.)
May 12: On Falcon Ave., domestic-verbal (in progress) was reported for a noise complaint from a loud party. (11:05 p.m.)
May 13: 5800 St. Croix Trail, theft of gas was reported at Holiday gas north. (2:24 p.m.)
5600 block of St. Croix Trail, disturbance (not in progress) homeless male asking people for money. (7:02 p.m.)
May 14: 5900 block of Main St., theft of gas reported at Holiday gas south. (9:16 p.m.)

Chisago County:
May 8: 5000 block of Acacia Trail, Stanchfield, vehicle fire. Upon deputy arrival, the vehicle was fully engulfed. The Braham Fire Department arrived and put the fire out. The vehicle was a total loss, and the unattached garage sustained fire damage to the exterior. (7:26 p.m.)
May 9: 400 block of Oriole Ave., North Branch, suspicious vehicle. A deputy responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle in the gravel pit that was stuck in the sand.
Anonymous complainant also advised that there were people in the pit being vulgar and starting a fire. Upon arrival, the deputy located the vehicle but no one was around. The vehicle’s windows were all down and the moon roof was open. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from inside the vehicle. Upon further examination of the vehicle, it had plates on it that were not for that vehicle. Additional deputies did respond to the area and set up a perimeter. A K-9 did attempt to do a track on the suspects. They were unsuccessful locating the suspects.
A short time later, they did locate the suspects. A male party was taken into custody. A female party was transported back to her residence in Shafer. (8:55 p.m.)
May 10: 1500 block of W. 4th St., Rush City, theft (not in progress) at the Holiday Gas Station. A male took pizza from the store without paying. His license plate was written down, and the employee will talk to the manager in the morning about possibly wanting to create a theft report. The State Patrol stopped vehicle previously and an employee ID’d the male party via photo. The suspect has a Pine County warrant. (12:44 A.M.)
May 13: 100 Block of N. Bremer Ave., Rush City, theft (not in progress) at Dahl Bros. Transportation Inc. Deputies responded and the owners advised they had five alcoa semi rims stolen the night before. They said they were worth $500 a piece. Information was received they were sold for scrap at Jones Construction Services in Beroun. The owners contacted the construction company inquiring if someone may have sold them five semi-truck rims. The owner said they had just received them. The owner of the construction company immediately called the bank and canceled the check. The bank advised that the suspect was there trying to cash the check. The owners got the rims back, and the check was never cashed.The suspect was identified and charges were sent to the county attorney. (10:41 a.m.)
May 13: 39000 block of Sunrise Road, Sunrise Township, fire call. A deputy arrived to observe part of a tree and a large pine tree on fire near the residence. He provided information to responding firefighters about the fire and the live wires. Once the fire fighters and the DNR came on scene, and everything was under control; the deputy cleared the scene. (12:56 p.m.)

May 8: Tanna Marie Thesing, 34, Stacy, gross misdemeaner, body art-fail to obtain tattoo technician license.
May 10: Tracy Scott Ellegson, 51, North Branch, felony drugs-5th degree-possess schedule 1,2,3,4-not small amount marijuana.
Scott Allen Cooper, 52, North Branch, domestic assault-misdemeanor-intentionally inflicts/attempts to inflict bodily harm on another.
George James Sleva, 27, Rush City, domestic assault-misdemeanor-commits act to cause fear of immediate bodily harm or death.
May 11: Eric Thomas Leintz, 30 Center City, motor vehicle registration-intent to escape tax, traffic regulation-uninsured vehicle-driver violation, receiving stolen property.
May 13: Mandy Dawn Henzlik, 42, Lindstrom, traffic-DWI-third-degree driving while impaired.
