There was plenty of reason for the North Branch adapted bowling team to celebrate at the state qualifying meet at Brunswick Zone XL in Brooklyn Park on May 11: Every Viking bowler qualified for the state championships in at least one category.
Juniors Joy Edyvean (440, fourth) and Marie Rogde (402, 24th) made the cut in CI girls singles and will also bowl in the team division alongside senior Neal Deilke and eighth-grader Victoria Kent. The Vikings’ team score of 1584 placed them 10th at the qualifier.
The ASD team of sophomore Kevin Seekon, freshman Logan Ricard and seventh-graders Eli Black and Matthew Fox topped their division with a combined score of 1623. Seekon’s 459-point contribution is a season-high for a Viking bowler.
The doubles teams of Black/Fox (806, eighth) and Ricard/Seekon (774, 12th) also advanced to state. Ricard and Seekon are the defending state champions in the event.
The state championship will be held at Brunswick Zone on May 19.
