Marilyn  M. Bostrom

Marilyn Mae (Mattson) Bostrom, age 90, formerly of North Branch passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Lilydale Senior Living in Lilydale, MN.
Marilyn was born on September 10, 1926 in McVille, North Dakota, the third child of Dr. Roger and Agnes (Dahlin) Mattson. After graduating from McVille High School as the champion long jumper she attended the University of North Dakota before transferring to the University of Minnesota receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in 1948. She married Charles H. Bostrom on June 22, 1950 and they began their life together in North Branch raising four boys and selling Chevrolets. Her feats of motherhood included climbing a tree to rescue one child while pregnant with another and making the best crabapple jelly ever.
She enjoyed golf, cooking, travel (especially with her sister June), celebrating her Swedish heritage, grandchildren and after moving away returning for lunch with her North Branch friends.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Agnes, husband of 49 years Charles, sister, June (Mattson) Tekell and brother, Roger Mattson.
She is survived by her four sons, Bruce (Charlene) of St. Paul, Brian (Jill) of Shoreview, Bradley (Sandra) of Bloomington and Brett (Deborah) of Rosemount; brother-in-law Joe Bob Tekell of Corsicana, TX; sister-in-law Beverly Mattson of Casper, WY; her 11 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lilydale Senior Living and Healthpartne’s Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Marilyn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch with Rev. Jon Yurk officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Interment will follow the service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch.
