Congressman Rick Nolan stopped by Princeton City Hall June 26 to meet with Butch Karcher, of North Branch, who owns Karcher Foster Services, Inc. Karcher’s company owns foster homes. The two were meeting to discuss the Olmstead Act, a U.S. Supreme Court decision ruling that unjustified segregation of persons with disabilities constitutes discrimination in violation of title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The two met in Princeton because Nolan was on his way to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to catch a flight to Washington, D.C. and Princeton City Hall was a convenient meeting place.
