Lakes Region EMS named top workplace

For the past three years, Lakes Region EMS has been named as one of the top 150 workplaces in Minnesota by the Star Tribune.
“The progress starts when employees unanimously nominate the organization for consideration,” Aaron Reinert, executive director of Lakes Regions EMS, said. “If the organization is accepted, Workplace Dynamics and the Star Tribune send an employee survey to the staff that focuses on employee engagement.”
Lakes Region is built on a foundation called “The Four Pillars,” which are:
–Serving its customers with the state-of-the art patient care.
–Outstanding customer service.
–Dedication to the communities Lakes Region serves.
–Financial health and responsibility.
“Our employees have chosen us through their responses about their engagement and feelings about the organization and how it cares for them, and how it cares for our customers and our communities,” Reinert said.
According to Reinert, the process of the top 150 workplaces is done by other newspapers in other states throughout the U.S.
“To the best of my knowledge, we are only one of seven ambulance services in the nation to receive an award like this,” he said. “Prior to 2017, we were the only ambulance service in Minnesota to have received this recognition.”
Lakes Region has five ambulances on duty every day and has 81 employees. They respond to approximately 10,000 emergency services calls every year.
“We’re extremely proud that we’ve earned this recognition for the last three years. We create an environment that is fun, friendly and family-like,” Reinert said. “I hope the communities are as equally proud of the organization that serves them at some of the most difficult times when someone needs to dial 911.”
