Community Ed has your summer covered

Deb Henton

The summer is in full swing and the weather is finally cooperating for outdoor fun! If you are looking for family friendly fun this summer, look no further than North Branch Area Community Education.
Of course, the big summer event from Community Ed is Concerts in the Park. This event is held every Thursday starting July 13 through Aug. 10 at Central Park in North Branch. Concerts in the Park starts at 6:45 p.m. with story time for kids. We have wonderful readers lined up this summer, including Kris Greene, Brett Carlson, Jessica Thelander, Rebecca Johnson, and the Midsummer Ambassadors. The first 50 families that attend the concert will also receive a free book.
Music commences at 7 p.m and acts include Gravel Roads, Average Gatsby, Kenny and Rick, Andy Spofford, and Bob the Beachcomber, respectively. In cases in which the weather is poor, the event moves indoors to the high school auditorium.
Concerts in the Park is a wonderful family event and I hope you take the opportunity to attend and enjoy the great music and family fun!
Do you need more ideas to keep yourself or your kids busy this summer? Check the Community Ed brochure. A copy is mailed to each household in the school district and if you don’t have a physical copy to reference, a link to the electronic version can be found at the bottom of this page: http://isd138.org/page/2919.
There are things to do for adults and kids, and even some ideas for dogs. There’s yoga, swimming lessons, art camps, baby-sitting classes, and much more. Check out Community Ed’s summer brochure and see for yourself. We take great pride in our offerings for families both during the school year and summer. If you have any questions about the brochure or summer fun opportunities, call Community Ed at 651-674-1025.
