Catherine "Katie" Larson

Catherine “Katie” Rae Larson, 55, of Forest Lake took her final breath on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Birchwood Care Center in Forest Lake. Katie passed away as a result of complications from kidney and lung failure the day after family and friends gathered around her in a Celebration of Life at Calvary Church in Stanchfield. Katie was able to experience firsthand how loved she was.

Katie was born September 16, 1961 to Leslie and Carolyn (Haller) Larson in Duluth, Minnesota. Katie attended school in Rush City and later worked in retail and had a knack for crafting. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, baking and tending ever so lovingly to her rabbits, chickens, cats and dogs throughout the years. Despite a lifetime of health struggles, she always remained positive and was always seen with a smile on her face.

Katie will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, her peaceful nature, her generous heart and her courageous strength. She was a role model to many.

Katie is survived by her mother Carolyn (Jerry) Beise; father Leslie (Karen) Larson; grandmother Gladys Larson; sisters Cindy (Roger) Sinn, Lisa Juliot, Betsy (Chad) Ferrie, and Dena Beise; brothers Joe (Christine) Beise, John (Jayne) Beise, and Jeffrey Beise; nephews Jonas (Heather) Corbett, Joe Jr. Beise, Hayden Ferrie, and Jacob Beise; nieces Jessie (Trevor) DeCorsey, Emily Beise, Ella Ferrie, Meg Ferrie, Hannah Beise, Kara Beise, Alyssa Beise, and Leah Beise; great-nephews Trenton Corbett, Joey Reed, Henry DeCorsey and Arthur DeCorsey; great-nieces Ariel Corbett, Charlotte DeCorsey, Winifred DeCorsey, and Mia Beck.

In lieu of a memorial service, the family asks that you honor Katie’s life by loving each other a little deeper, facing your fears with courage and laughter, finding joy in the simplicities that life has to offer, and indulging in chocolate treats every now and then. Hold Katie close to you and remember her for a life well lived.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service of Rush City - Olson Chapel. www.FuneralAndCremationService.com
