Police Reports

North Branch police reports major arrests and incidents that occur in the city limits. Chisago County Sheriff’s Office reports major crimes and arrests within Chisago County. The time refers to the time the incident was reported on the corresponding date.

Chisago County:
Aug. 21: 43100 block of Blackhawk Rd., Fish Lake Township, threats (not in progress). The complainant stated that Sen. Al Franken was coming to her winery for a book signing. She received an email from someone and it said that he and Trump supporters were going to protest at her winery because of her support of Franken and his support of hate and discontent. The deputy told the complainant that they would have a car go through the area around 4 p.m. that day and again after the night crew starts. (8:13 a.m.)
Aug. 21: 25800 block of Lofton Ave., Chisago City, burglary-residential (not in progress). A homeowner left in the morning and returned to find that items were missing. He was missing a safe, papers, $3,800, and a basket containing change. He believes the suspect is his girlfriend. (5:19 p.m.)
Aug. 23: Forest Boulevard and 530th Street, Rusheba Township, medical. A deputy located a vehicle pulled over on the shoulder. He made contact with the female driver who was having a diabetic reaction. The deputy advised dispatch to send medics, as the woman was losing consciousness. The deputy assisted her with getting out of the vehicle and had her sit in the back seat of the his squad car. The deputy located a candy bar and lemonade in the vehicle and she was able to eat and drink, which seemed to help. Medics arrived and got her blood sugar back to normal. The driver’s husband arrived and drove her home. (1:52 p.m.)
Aug. 23: 4000 block of Fawn Lake Dr., Lent Township, crash-property damage only. A deputy responded to a vehicle crash involving multiple vehicles. In total, four vehicles were involved, three of which ended up needing tows. Three people were injured and transported to Fairview Lakes Hospital via North Memorial EMS. Information was gathered, photos of all vehicles were taken, and due to multiple parties leaving prior to the deputy’s completion of gathering information and documentation, all crash information will be mailed to the various drivers/owners involved in this incident. (8:39 p.m.)
Aug. 24: Cedarcrest Trail/Crescent Rd., Fish Lake Township, gun complaints/shots fired. A deputy made contact with the complainant who said that her neighbor shoots six hours at a time. The deputy advised her that there were no restrictions. She became upset and wanted to know what to do. The deputy advised her to contact the Legislature or township to see if they wanted to change or create rules, or seek an HRO. She advised that she would just go out with her gun and shoot all night. (1:26 p.m.)
Aug. 26: 14000 block of St. Croix Trail, Sunrise Township, crash-property damage only. A deputy responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 95 in front of the Hay Days grounds. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the driver and the lone occupant of the vehicle. The driver reported no injuries, although he did have a cut on his thumb. The driver was covered head to toe in mud, caused by the accident. Lakes Region EMS responded to treat the driver’s thumb. State Patrol responded to handle the crash. The driver was ultimately arrested by the Minnesota State Patrol for DWI. (4:30 a.m.)

Aug 23: Michael Roy Gosselin, 29, Rush City, escape-felony-flee an officer. Misdemeanor-traffic-drivers license driving after suspension.
Aug 24: Nathen Norman Waldo, 30, North Branch, felony, criminal vehicular operation-substantial bodily harm-alcohol .08 or more within two hours of driving.
Scott Allen Cooper, 54, North Branch, escape-felony-flee an officer, gross misdemeanor-domestic assault.
Aug. 26: Shawn Michael Williams, 41, North Branch, disorderly conduct.
Aug. 27: Jason Randall Crosby, 38, Stacy, misdemeanor, obstruction of legal process-interfere with peace officer.
