Sunrise Prairie Regional Trail grand opening, ribbon cutting Sept. 16

The Chisago County Parks Division, the Chisago County Parks and Trails Foundation and the City of North Branch invite everyone to celebrate the grand re-opening of the Sunrise Prairie Regional Trail and ribbon cutting for the new addition of the trail heading to north in North Branch.
The event will take place at the Sunrise Prairie Regional Trail Head in North Branch at 6311 Maple Street starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 16. There will be several activities taking place including bicycle safety inspections and e-bike (electric power assisted bike) demonstrations and demos by Penn Cycle. A ribbon cutting for the new trail segment will be at 10:30 a.m. at Riverwalk Park. There will also be updates on U.S. Bike Route 41(Capitol to Canada) and the Oberstar connection from Chisago County to Hinckley at the trail head.
There will be hot dogs, chips and root beer along with door prizes and drawings for a new bicycle and a pair of roller blades at 12:30 p.m., donated by Chisago County Parks and Trails Foundation, Penn Cycle, and Forest Lake Cycle and Skate.
Major project funding is provided by the Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment, Chisago County and the City of North Branch.
