Our school year is off to a great start. It is hard to believe we have already been in session for a month and that homecoming is upon us.
Homecoming is such a wonderful tradition in Rush City. We are hoping many of you will join us on Friday, Oct. 6 for the parade at 2:15 p.m., followed by the pig roast at 4 p.m., and then the football game against the Mesabi Giants at 7 p.m. Another event you are welcome to attend is the volleyball home game at 6 p.m. Oct. 5.
Another event that we hope will become a huge tradition for Rush City Schools is the Veterans Day celebration. On Thursday, Nov. 9 at 9 a.m., our schools will gather in the high school gym to honor the veterans of our community. All are invited! If you are a veteran or have family members who served, please invite them to attend the celebration. Our local Legion and VFW will also be reaching out to their members. Please contact our District Office at 320-358-4855 with any questions.
And lastly, I would like to remind our community members about the operating referendum for our schools, our students, and our community, that will be on the ballot Nov. 7.
In addition to the operating referendum, we are also holding a school board election. Polls open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Voting will take place at the Rush City High School in the gym. Information about the candidates will be published in an upcoming issue of the Post Review. For more information about the operating referendum, please contact any of our current school board members, or myself at 320-358-4855 or [email protected] We also have some information posted on our website under “Quick Links” — www.rushcity.k12.mn.us
Thank you for all of your ongoing support, and I look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming events.
