Folks living north of downtown North Branch may or may not want to join
resident John Heimer in trying to work out something with the Zinpro
company. On certain days, when the wind blows just right, there’s something in the air that is offending at least once citizen.

A horrific car crash along Hwy. 8 near James Ave., west of Chisago
City, on Friday evening resulted in the deaths of two drivers,
including 18-year-old James E. Selden II, of Shafer. According to the state patrol, Selden was traveling west-bound on Hwy. 8 at approximately 7:40 p.m....

The Rush City Council remarked on Monday night that clean-up day was a
smashing success. But it also expressed a desire to see it organized
and run by a local, or series of local, civic organizations, thus
removing the responsibility from city staff, which Mayor Ertz called
costly.

students for a period of one year for breaking the district policy for

In unexpected action, 2008-elected Lent Township supervisor Dave Milles removed himself from the town board last night after he asked for a show of hands of how many wanted him to resign. There were dozens of township residents on hand for the special meeting.

There’s a proper place for those unwanted household chemicals
The snow is gone and you can finally open the garage door. You know the
garage, that place where you’re suppose to store your vehicles? Somehow it has become the receptacle for a ton of cans, bottles and containers of stuff.

It isn’t with great eagerness, but it is with a certain consensus, that
the North Branch City Council seems fairly sure they will be approving
a fall referendum on the construction of a new police station. That was the conclusion of a segment of a special work session May 30.

The Sunrise Mobile Home Park is enforcing a curfew. Non-residents will
be asked to leave or have their vehicles towed from the park, which is
private property after 9 p.m. The Joint Resolution for Orderly Annexation of Lent township property has been worked out on paper.

North Branch Mayor Gloria Karsky opened her prayer breakfast at the
Legion Hall this morning by making note of the vision and value
statement of the National Day of Prayer. The breakfast was attended by over 70 people, who also heard from Pastor Neil Bonkoski and Chaplain Dan Hall from the state legislature.
