This Friday, Oct. 3, the 1-4 Tigers welcome Hinkley-Finlayson to Rush City. The 1-4 Vikings are also at home, against Benilde-St. Margaret's. Kick-off in North Branch is set for 7 p.m. It's 7:30 p.m. in Rush City. Look for results at the Post Review's Scoreboard Plus (above) after the games.

Fund transfer needed until taxes come in
In order to meet the cash flow needs for the Road and Bridge Fund, the Chisago County commissioners last week had to approve a temporary transfer of $2 million from other funds, at the request of County Treasurer Lee  Olson.
 
Veteran’s Service Office has new brochure
Chisago County Veterans Services Officer Jim Halstrom has prepared a colorful booklet that includes much useful information for county veterans. The county commissioners received a copy of this booklet at the April 2  board meeting.
 
A work session needs workers, says councilor
The North Branch City Council holds at least two work sessions a month. The idea is that the councilors will get background information and learn about upcoming issues and projects and be able to talk more casually about them before having to make official decisions at the regular council meetings.

North Branch approves new hire at police department
The three council members on hand for the March 24 North Branch City Council meeting approved the hiring of Rebecca Lawrence as a new police officer for the city’s police department. The interview team consisted of Police Chief Steve Forner, Lt. Dan Meyer, Sgt. Rick Sapp and City Clerk Ry-Chel Gausted.
