The Harris Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) is scheduled to start
operation May 12. Paul Christianson of People’s Service (Peoples),
which has contracted with Harris to operate the facility, confirmed the
date at the April 14 City Council meeting.

In a letter to the mayor and council, North Branch City Councilwoman
Amy Oehlers requested a temporary leave of absence this week “for
personal and health reasons.” She requested this action for a period of up to 90 days with the “hope and intention” of returning to her council position.

The Stacy City Council passed a resolution officially adopting members
of the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st
Airborne Division of the U.S. Army, known as Baker Company. Baker
Company out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky was deployed to Afghanistan two
weeks ago. Stacy is the first city in Minnesota to adopt a unit.
