Minnesota Zephyr to end in January 2009
Despite an attempt to overcome the failed acquisition of the Minnesota Zephyr railroad corridor by the MN Parks and Trails Council/ MN Dept. of Natural Resources, the Minnesota Zephyr is officially discontinuing operations as of January 1, 2009.

Appreciation to the teachers in area schools

teach.jpgRecently, Anytime Fitness in Cambridge, Isanti and North Branch showed their appreciation to all the unsung local heroes of our communities. Aware of how many dedicated teachers dip into their own pockets for classroom supplies, Anytime Fitness decided to help out. 

Shari Schommer, North Branch Anytime Fitness, (second from right)  presented (l to r) Principal Melody Tenhoff, CE Jacobson Elementary, Superintendent Vern Koepp and Rush City High School Principal Mark Saari  with a tub of supplies. 

As the educators in the Cambridge, Isanti, North Branch and Rush City school districts came back to their classrooms, Anytime Fitness delivered to each district an enormous tub filled with school supplies. 

Anytime Fitness also presented all the employees of the various districts a special savings to show their appreciation for all they do for our children and for their future.

Hals retires from Knife River NB
After more than 45 years in the construction industry, Knife River Corporation’s North Branch manager Rick Hals is hanging up his hard hat to spend more time on the projects he loves. Labor Day weekend was his first official weekend of retirement.
