Legion is thankful for donation
North Branch American Legion Post #85 would like to thank Dolores Fairbanks for the donation in memory of Jerry Fairbanks. The new adjustable flag staffs and flag bases with new colors will be used at special occasions and for veterans’ funerals at the local funeral home.
 
Prayers needed for relative
It is with great sadness and sorrow that I inform you of the tragic death of my father-in-law, Lonnie Johnson, on Wednesday afternoon about 2 p.m. as he collided with a semi truck on Hwy 212 east of Watertown, S.D. Lonna’s dad died on the way to the hospital.
 
A $2 million rubber floor?
Once again our public education system does the incomprehensible. For at least a year we have heard nothing but bad news about staff cuts, program cuts, fee increases and the need for a school bond levy. Also our students did not test out very well in several areas.
