Fleming convicted of second degree murder

After over five hours of deliberation, the jury in the Craig Fleming murder trial returned "not guilty" verdicts on three of four charges. To the matter of first degree premeditated homicide, an indictment for which the County Attorney's office sought soon after the killing of Martin Carlson, 25, of Center City, the verdict was "not guilty."
 
Day Four: Fleming's fate in jurors' hands

The fate of Craig Fleming and his level of responsibility in the death of Martin Carlson is now in the hands of 12 residents of Chisago County  charged with the task of making sense of a senseless death. The jury was excused at around 12:30 p.m., Thursday (Feb. 14) to begin deliberations.

Day two of testimony in the Craig Fleming trial saw the continuation of crime scene expert testimony as well as that of eyewitnesses. Fleming jury almost filled out
On Friday afternoon, Feb. 8, after almost five days of the extensive and sometimes deeply personal testimony of potentials, the jury count for the Craig Fleming trial stood at 12. In interviews during the  Thursday session, questions about alcohol, firearms, and personal relationships with violent crime were numerous.
