Filings closed: Much interest shown in county commissioner races |

The filing period closed Tuesday at 5 p.m. for political races in 2008.
Three Chisago County commissioner seats are up for grabs this year and a number of citizens have come forward to vie for the positions.
In District 1, currently held by Lynn Schultz, four people including incumbent Schultz have thrown in their hat.
They are Veronica Korby of North Branch, Randy S. Larson, of North Branch, and Lora Walker of Stacy.
Schultz is from Center City.
In District 3, six candidates have filed including incumbent Bob Gustafson.
The others include Chris Dubose of Chisago City, Curt Flug of Lindstrom, Jonathan P. Glassel of Chisago City, George McMahon of Chisago City and Jon Stignani of Lindstrom.
Gustafson is from Chisago City.
In District 5, Bob Carter of Harris is challenging incumbent Mike Robinson, of Rush City.
Primary elections will be held in September to whittle Dist. 1 and 3 to two candidates.
