Ruby E. Wenell, age 90 of Taylors Falls died on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Home in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.

Ruby was born on June 24, 1917 in Taylors Falls to Edward and Verda Iola (Tilley) Bentley. She attended school through the eighth grade. She married Wilber Murray and they both worked for the McKenzie Farms in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. Wilber died in 1957 and Ruby later married Roy Wenell. She was employed at the V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis before going to the Anchor Hospital in St. Paul where she worked for over 21 years. Ruby and Roy continued to farm near Taylors Falls and Ruby was always on the go doing chores and driving “her” Case tractor. She liked to travel the area visiting people, she loved to dance in her earlier years and she loved doing things for other people.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Darlene) Murray of Roseville; Mary (Duane) Kuether of Taylors Falls; Verda (Charles) Ripperger of Pine River, sister, Mary Ebert of St. Paul; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren; step son, Russell Wenell of North Branch; step daughter, Gail Wenell of Almelund and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Iola; first husband, Wilber; brothers, Carl and Vernon Bentley; sisters, Viola Small, Birdie Johnson, Blanche Wissinger; stepson, Roy Wenell, Jr.

Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Feb. 21 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund with Rev. Brian Bergin officiating. Music will be provided by Darlene and Paul Wolleat; Mary Jo Bierman. Casketbearers are Ray Franzmeier, Nick Franzmeier, Ron Murray, Jesse Robinson, Conrad Schultz and Ross Loringer. Honorary casketbearers are Richard Peterson, Cory Franzmeier, Terry Bentley, Gary Peterson, Charles Ripperger, Duane Kuether, James Elmquist III, Jordan Elmquist and Vern Everson.

Arrangements are by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.
