It takes a ‘cardboard’ village |

National Honor Society students built a cardboard box village near the
high school as they prepared to sleep out in those boxes as part of a
learning experience and fund-raiser for the Minnesota Coalition for the
Homeless.

high school as they prepared to sleep out in those boxes as part of a
learning experience and fund-raiser for the Minnesota Coalition for the
Homeless.
Besides giving up a night’s sleep in a warm bed, the students paid $20
each to participate in the event. The goal was to raise $1,000 and
organizers Cassie Saunders, Rachel Torgerson (and Amanda Johnson)
believed they had met that goal as of Saturday night with the help of
donations.
There was a total of 56 students and at least 10 chaperones. See the Feb. 27 print edition of the Post Review for more on the story.
