The North Branch Dance Team had its strongest performances of the season at the Section 2AA meet held in North Branch on Feb. 9.

The girls placed 5th in kick and 6th in jazz out of a field of 13 competitors.

The kick team narrowly missed 4th place after a tie breaker had to be done between North Branch and Duluth Central.

The top three teams in each field advanced to the state tournament, held Feb. 16 and 17 at the Xcel Energy Center.

Kick coach Marie Norton and jazz coach Melissa Hall said they were extremely proud of the girls performances.

“They worked really hard this year and their efforts resulted in their highest scores of the season in kick,” Norton said.
