The North Branch girls basketball team picked up its third North
Suburban Conference win with a victory over the Columbia Heights
Hylanders on Feb. 19.
The Vikings smothered the Hylanders in a thick paste of the full-court pressure, forcing countless turnovers in the first half.
At half time, the girls had a 32-15 lead and when the final horn was blown, the girls walked away with a 69-43 victory.
Amanda Sylla led the team with 18 points.

Moose Lake
In a non-conference match up, the girls lost to Moose Lake by four points, 54-50. It was their last home game of the season.
In some regards, the game was a microcosm of the girls entire season.
They played hard the first half but were unable to close out the game.
Versus Moose Lake, lack of rebounding was the dagger to the heart.
“They really were tall and physical compared to us and we just didn’t
do a good enough job on the boards,” head coach Dan Schindler said.
Kristen Robatcek led the team with 11 points. Megan Scherer added nine rebounds.
North Branch plays Chisago Lakes on the road Feb. 27 for the first round of the section playoffs.
