Honey: a bit o’ sunshine in a jar |

The hall at Abundant Life Church was full of garden and environmental
ideas as local green thumbs prepared for the 2008 growing season at the
Chisago County Master Gardeners annual Garden Bonanza last Saturday.
Right: No flowers yet, and the snow is getting mighty old, but the
gold in the jars at the Garden Bonanza in North Branch last Saturday
helped to warm up a cold March day. Jerome LInser, left, had a nice
display of honey and bee information at the day-long event.
He noted that it is getting harder to keep bees alive in the hive over
winter, due to the weather, mites and other enemies that lowers the
insects’ resistance. His apiary is near Stillwater.
