Dressing for success made easy thanks to local dressbarn PDF Print
Making a good first impression is a huge contributing factor to landing a job. In fact, one’s appearance is an essential determinant in making a favorable influence during a job interview.

“We know how important a job interview is; that is why we partnered with our local Dress for Success affiliate to help disadvantaged women make that first impression a good one,” said Susan Scott, district manager for dressbarn in North Branch. During Dress for Success’s Send One Suit Week®, dressbarn stores across the country will collect clothing from customers and donate them to underprivileged women in the local community seeking career development support through Dress for Success.

Dress for Success’s mission is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

The non-profit organization solves the problem confronting women trying to enter the workforce: without a job, how can you afford a suit? But, without a suit, how can you get a job? The company encourages local residents to donate one new or nearly new business suit to help another woman enter the workforce.

“We didn’t hesitate when given the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of women right here in the community where we do our business,” Scott added. “This is a great opportunity for our customers and associates. We want everyone to realize that when they make a donation, they are giving another woman the confidence to enter or return to the workplace, make a professional first impression, and land a job that could change her life.”

Local residents are being asked to donate new or gently-used suits and other professional apparel to dressbarn in North Branch or any other dressbarn location during Send One Suit Week, March 30-April 5.

Each customer who donates during this week will receive a coupon from dressbarn for 15 percent off their total purchase.
