The Rush City girls basketball held its end of the season banquet at the Pizza Pub in Pine City on March 18 and awards were given.

Senior Amy Carlson was named to the Great River Conference honorable mention team, received the coaches award and was academic all-state.

Brittany Scheffer was named the teams’ most valuable player and to the all-conference team.

Under first year head coach Mark Henrich, the girls finished the season 2-21 overall and 1-15 in the Great River Conference. Their season ended with a 62-27 loss to Braham in the first round of the section playoffs.

“I am very proud of these young ladies and the rest of the team for all their hard work and dedication. I am looking forward to the next season and more success. And a thank you to the parents for their support during the season,” Henrich said.
