TO THE EDITOR:
I have contacted Rep. Eastlund on at least 3 occasions and not once has he taken time to respond. Sure he takes the time to write articles for the paper to “plead” his case and advise us on what he is doing. Still when a constituent takes the time to address a concern Rep. Eastlund should show some respect and respond.
I also have contacted Sen. Olseen several times, and he has responded. And may I say in a timely and in depth manner! That’s not to say that Sen. Olseen and I agree on many issues, but, I must give my respect to him for taking his valuable time in responding to each of my concerns and I told him of such. But, when the Senator and I do agree, I will support him.
Now, let me think. With my limited knowledge of politics, I believe I have this correct....The Senator represents a greater number of constituents than does the Representative but yet the Senator responds and the Representative doesn’t even insult me with a “formed letter” response telling me (as if I didn’t know) that the Legislature is in session and he doesn’t have the time.
The ironic thing is I am a “Independent” and lean towards the conservative values, but yet the conservative Representative has no time for a Voter who might support him and his efforts.
To be fair with Rep. Eastlund, in articles that he sends in for the paper, he encourages YOU to contact him, but, no where does he say he will respond.
Shame on you “Non-Representative” Eastlund. I hope you see the light. If not, there will be another election coming soon.
