Boys second, girls third at Foley meet |

The Rush City boys and girls track team competed in the Great River Conference indoor meet at Foley on March 29. It was their first meet of the year and head coach Mike Vaughan was happy with his team's performance.
The boys finished second overall with the six team field, with 131 points, just two points shy of Pine City who won the meet.
Braham, East Central, Hinckley-Finlayson, Ogilvie, Pine City were all at the meet.
Senior Blake Rustad had a good day,
For the boys team, the relay teams had a good showing. The 4x100 of Cole Karnick, Alex Sterger, Chris Scheffer and Blake Rustad took second place with a time of 51.1
The 4x200 relay team of Sterger, Scheffer, Andrew Behrendt and Jon Waters took second place in 1:50. The 4x200 took first in 4:01. Members were Zac Scheele, Zac Saumer, Luke Moulton and Rustad.
The 4x800 relay of Scheele, Saumer, Ike Johnson and Isaac Roll claimed first place in 9:42.
Saumer also took first in the mile while senior Reilly Melin took second in the mile.
GIRLS
At the same meet, the girls finished third out of seven teams with 79 points. Hinckley-Finlayson finished well ahead of the pack with 159 points.
The 4x800 relay team of Ashley Swanson, Bryanna Koehnle, Erin Kossan and Caci Cook took second place.
The 4x200 relay team of Katie Turner, Danielle Kirchberg, Dancia Schellbach and Brooke Hein finished third.
The 4x100 of Andrea Becker, Kirchberg, Brooke Hein and Turner finished third.
In the 800 run, distance runner Koehnle took second in 2:45.
Rush City’s next meet is April 10 against Mora.
