On April 7, Rushseba Township board of supervisors (Chisago County) recognized retiring clerk David J. Nelson for over 29 years of service to Rushseba Township from January 1979 to March 2008. Nelson served the township with integrity and dedication all those years and will be missed in that capacity.
Known for his dry wit, Nelson said, “It was time to quit; I thought a laptop was coming.” Nelson operates a dairy farm in Rushseba south of Rush City. He and his wife Janice have a son, Mark, married to Carrie, and triplet grandchildren, Kayla, Kyle and Kevin.
He occasionally flies with his son who owns Hawk Aviation out of the Rush City Airport. The entire family is active at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Rush City. Pictured above are supervisors Marty Youngbauer, Peter Johnson (chairman), David Nelson and Jon Moulton.
