Swanson: Good to see you at the Expo PDF Print
It was great to see all of you at the North Branch Expo last Saturday. The event has turned out to be a once-a-year gathering for friends, old and new. I was thrilled to see some of you who I haven’t seen in years. I actually thought some of you had moved away. So glad you have not. The kids had fun collecting balloons and pens and stuff and the folks had a good time visiting and learning about the organizations and businesses in the area. The city of North Branch had quite a set up with maps and information galore for those who are newer to the area and wondering what this city is all about.

At our Post Review booth we had a game called Front Page History where we pulled out three old newspapers and asked visitors to guess the month and year of the editions. This game really makes people think. I’ll let you in on the answers. Paper #1, the one with the gas price sign at $1.47 was from March 26, 2003. Paper #2, the one with the pictures of the razing of the North Branch Cafe, was from February, 25, 2004. Finally, many of you remembered the last edition. Paper #3 was from June 27,  2007. The headline story was about the major hail storm that roared through Stark and Harris the evening of June 20. Dave Johnson of North Branch got all three correct and we will see that he gets a one-year subscription to the Post Review. Sue Deluney, of North Branch, came very close to the correct answers, also.  We have a gift for her also. Thanks to all who stopped by our booth and took the time to play Front Page History.
