It’s no April Fools joke if you get caught PDF Print

By Anne Thom

Stacy City Maintenance Supervisor Tom Archibald reported to the council last week that the portable stop sign the city has placed on Stacy Trail to slow traffic on the approach to the bike trail crossing was stolen  April 1. He said, “We looked for it in the general area of course,” thinking someone had merely moved it.

The sign however proved to be missing. It will be no April Fools joke if someone is caught with it. When Archibald told the council the city had paid $435 for the sign, City Attorney Peter Grundhoefer said a theft of that value would bring a felony level charge. The city has reported the theft to the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office.
