The trial of Jason Nordin, 23, of North Branch got underway on April 8, and testimony continued as of Tuesday, April 15.
According to court administration, Nordin waived his right to a jury trial and his case is being heard in front of a judge only.
Nordin is charged with second degree murder in the death of his son, four-month-old, Joshua Nordin. The State Attorney General’s office hopes to prove that Joshua died of “Shaken Baby Syndrome” caused by Nordin on Aug. 16, 2006.
The Nordin defense is expected to bring a roster of experts to testify that the injuries sustained by Joshua could have been caused by a relatively minor fall.
Testimony in the trial is expected to conclude this week, but sources at the court house suggested that it is running a little behind schedule.
