Baumann earns academic award at UMD PDF Print
University of Minnesota Duluth senior placekicker Britt Baumann has been selected as a member of the National Football Foundation National Honor Society in recognition of his  accomplishments in the class room and on the playing field.

Baumann is the son of North Branch head basketball coach Bill Baumann and is a 2004 NBHS graduate.

Baumann, owns a 3.48 grade point average as a sociology major, qualified for the North Central Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll the past three years. The Bulldogs’ primary placekicker since his true freshman year in 2004, Baumann exited the UMD football program as its all-time leader in both field goals made (28) and attempts (48), marks he shares with Chad Gerlach (2000-03).

The 59 consecutive extra points he nailed between Sept. 15, 2005 and Sept. 8, 2007 also is a club record.

A total of 433 seniors (each of whom were either a starter or significant substitute and maintained a 3.20 cumulative grade point average) from 225 schools at all NCAA and NAIA levels received the honor.
