There are good and bad teams in the Great River Conference. Last week, the Rush City boys team played the latter.
On Jan. 17, the Tigers team defeated Onamia 84-42.
Onamia (0-11) wasn’t much of a challenge for the Tigers as they sailed to the victory
Everyone contributed in the win as they forced Onamia into 36 turnovers.
“Our theme this week was hard work, and we went out and worked hard in this game,” head coach Jeremy Albright said.
The boys shot 56 percent from the floor on 25 of 41.
“We had five guys in double figures for points – a good overall balance,”
Sophomore guard Justin “Red” Bosman had a complete game for the Tigers. He finished with 16 points and four assists.
Cody Waters came off the bench and had 12 points, four steals and three assists.
“Waters had an excellent game for us – he was all over the place,” Albright said.

Barnum
On Monday night, the boys learned what a state-ranked team plays like.
At home, the Tigers lost to No. 5 rated Barnum 74-60.
Erickson led the team with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Roll ended with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Albright was quick to give credit where it was due.
“They were too quick and too good a shooting team for us that night,” Albright said.
As has been the case for most of the season, Rush City had trouble
taking care of the basketball, as they had 19 total turnovers.
Barnum was on fire from outside the arc. They were nine of 21 for the game, or 43 percent.
Senior Jared Orn played a solid game, ending with nine points.
“I thought Orn played a good game, especially when you consider he wasn’t feeling well before the game,” Albright said.
