Charleen M. Kunshier, age 93 of Forest Lake formerly of the Stacy area died on Tuesday, Aprill 22, 2008 at the Birchwood Healthcare Center in Forest Lake.
Charlene was born on August 24, 1914 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her family lived in the Mahtomedi area where she attended school. She moved to Brandon, Minnesota her senior year of high school graduating there in 1931. After high school she attended Teachers Training receiving her Teaching Certificate. She met and later married Clyde Kunshier at the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Brandon, Minnesota on March 21, 1933. They soon started a family with the birth of their first child, Barbara followed by Roger and Marti. The family lived in the Forest Lake and Hugo area before settling in Stacy in 1949. Charleen was employed at Miller Hospital in St. Paul for many years as a Service Cooridinator retiring in 1976
She loved crocheting and knitting and often made baby blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to travel and took trips to Europe and Hawaii as
well as other locations throughout the United States. She loved people and especially enjoyed the times spent with her children and grandchildren. She was always there for them. Charleen became a resident at Birchwood Healthcare in Forest Lake in June of 2006.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Raymond) Mudrick of Stacy and Marti (Lon) Nelson of Elkhart, IN; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde and son, Roger.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Stacy with Rev. Ed Wheatley officiating. Music will by provided by Yvonne Mulry with music solo by Rev. Ed Wheatley. Casketbearers will be Nancy Quinn, Ramona Mortimer, Nicole Taylor, Nathan Nelson, Michael Mudrick and Justin Mudrick. Honorary Casketbears will be Scott Nelson, Lyndsey Quinn, Brandi Quinn, Robert LeVasseur, Joshua Allen and Jacob Mudrick. Interment will take place at the Stacy Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Grandstran Funeral Home in North Branch.
