Virginia L. Benolken, age 77 of North Branch passed away surrounded by family at her home on Thursday, April 24, 2008. She was born in Danbury, Wisconsin on November 11, 1930 to Cecil and Gretchen (Forbush) Folley. She married Wayne Benolken on May 6, 1950 and they were married for 46 years. Virginia worked for Green Acres Nursing Home for 15 years. She loved embroidering, playing bingo, watching birds and being with her family and friends. She is survived by sons; Richard (Leah) of North Branch; Randy (Chris) of Rush City; and Ray (Lisa) of Harris; daughters; Linda Calander of Cambridge and Ann (Terry) Sloan of Woodbury; she is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Holly, Nicole, Joe, Christopher, Pete, Leslie, Randy, Amy, Lindsey and Joshua and two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Madison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Barbara; son-in-law Mark; sister, Cassie; brothers, Wesley and Rodney.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008 from Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch with Chaplain Mae Kieper officiating. Music will be by Cathie Hendren and Jon Ekstrom. Serving as casketbearers will be Ray Benolken, Richard Benolken, Joe Benolken, Randy Benolken, Pete Benolken and Terry Sloan.
Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Branch. Special thank you to Fairview Lakes Home Caring and Hospice Staff and Dr. Rahel Ghebre from Fairview University. Arrangements were under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
