The Sons of Norway 14th Annual Heritage Fest is on Tuesday, May 13 at the Scandia Community Center. Many members of Vennelag 546 will be wearing their colorful Norwegian bunads for that great festival.
The Norwegian crafts of rosemaling, hardanger, woodcarving and lefse making will all be demonstrated starting at 6 p.m.
Gift baskets will be available for bidding. Each gift basket will have a particular theme. The famous Norske Lottery is the place to get your surprise gift. And you can also buy your supply of delicious Norwegian lefse at the Heritage Fest.
Vennelag members will be serving authentic Norwegian foods such as smørbrør, krumkake, lefse, rice pudding, rømmegraut, pickled herring, meatballs, etc., for your tasting pleasure.
Florian Chmielewski and Lorren Lindevig will play the best accordion music south of the Iron Range and this side of Norway from 7 to 9 p.m. for your listening and dancing pleasure.
Admission will be by advance ticket sale only. No tickets will be sold at the door as the number is limited by the size of the hall. Get your tickets from a Sons of Norway member; the price is $12. Call (651) 674-8173 or (651) 257-2013 for tickets.
The Heritage Festival is a great way to enjoy an evening with music and Norwegian delicacies. You can find out about your Norwegian heritage and learn more about Norway.
