The Vikings best round came from Doug Jorgenson, who golfed an 82 for 18 holes. Mike Dahl had an 87, Taylor Perreault an 88, and Joe Fairbanks an 89.

As a team the squad finished in 11th place with a score of 346. The top three schools were Centennial (1st - 303), Princeton (2nd - 310), and Elk River (3rd - 313).

Purple Hawk capped off a month of battling through the weather and competition for Vikings golfers, in which they have found themselves in the pack often.

At the Victory Links Invite on April 16, the team finished eighth with a score of 178 (nine holes). Jorgenson led the way individually with a 43, followed by Dahl, Perreault, and Moosey, all with 45.

The last week of April was a good one for the team, as they finished fifth overall at both the Pheasant Acres meet (163) on the 24th, and the Bunker Hills meet (337) on the 28th.

At Pheasant Acres it was Jared Houle coming in with the low score of 39, followed by Dahl at 40, and Perreault, and Moosey at 42.

At Bunker Hills, Houle would repeat that performance on the back nine, and score a team-leading 82 for 18 holes. Dahl shot an even lower 37 on the back nine, but a 47 performance on the front nine put him in second place for the team with an 84. Jorgenson and Moosey contributed with rounds of 85.

Despite an eighth place finish back at victory Links on April 30, coach Tom Moriarty was impressed with his team’s average in the low forties for nine holes. Joe Fairbanks led the way with a 40, followed by Dahl and Houle with 41, and Moosey with 43. “We had a great day,” he said.

Unfortunately, great golf was the order of the day, and Benilde - St. Margaret’s won with a 146, followed by St. Francis (154), and Chisago Lakes (157). North Branch finished with a team score of 165.
