To the editor:
The only way to select a presidential candidate that is fair to both the candidates and the people is to have a national primary open from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. so all people can vote. The Electoral College should be eliminated. We should be able to vote as individual citizens not as states. I realize that it will take an amendment to the Constitution. But if what I have suggested was adopted, we would have a true democracy, which we don’t have now.
If when Bush ran for president there had been no Electoral College, he would not have been elected. Look what we got.
