Lawrence was a loving father who served in the armed forces in WWII in Algiers and Italy. He had great respect and loyalty to the armed forces of all the men and women who served and lost their lives to save our country and to keep it free. They were family to him. After his time serving his country he went back to Des Moines, Iowa, and worked for Minneapolis Moline. He met his wife Selma and her daughter, Deanna and they fell in love and moved to Hopkins. He later worked with his wife for Mrs. Julius Davis as care takers. He and Selma later retired and moved to the North Branch area to be close to their daughter and son-in-law.
Lawrence had a great sense of humor. He was constantly working in the wee hours of the night to complete tasks. He liked wood working and did a nice job with completed tables and boxes and loved to give them as gifts. He was somewhat shy, loved his family and friends and always treated people fairly. He loved God’s creations and will be missed by all but especially by Deanna his daughter who loves him the most and will miss him forever. He is preceded in death by his wife, Selma and sister, Betty Boggs.
