St. Cloud Apollo

When the boys battled St. Cloud Apollo, they may have let their guard down as St. Cloud toppled North Branch 42-31.

Aho admitted he was disappointed with the way his wrestlers performed. The team was a little shorthanded, which may have contributed to the loss.

“Zach Frink built a nice lead but unfortunately was not able to hang on. He is working very hard and will finish those kind of matches as the season goes on,” he said.

In the heavyweight class, John Morrison lost in close match in overtime.

Pierz

The boys were able to dust themselves off after the St. Cloud loss and pick up a win against Pierz 54-27.

Patrick Mork and Stuart got a chance to prove themselves as the varsity level, both winning in decisions.

Aho said the two young men looked “very sharp.”

“Andy Freel did a nice job today. Even though he did not get a win, he gave us a good effort every time,” Aho said.
