 Funeral services for Joe D. Marek, age 20, of Harris, Minn., were held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2008 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with the Rev. Paul Roberts officiating. Visitation were from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Salem Corners, Minn.
Joe Douglas Marek was born on August 26, 1987 in Aurora, Colo., to parents, Douglas and Jana (Smith) Marek. Joe died on June 3, 2008 at his residence.
Joe graduated from Cambridge/Isanti Sr. High School. He currently was a student at Minneapolis Community and Technical College studying graphic design. Joe enjoyed fishing, kayaking, hunting, horses, water skiing, boating, music, drawing and collecting caps.
Survivors include his father, Douglas (Lisa) Marek of Harris, Minn., and his mother, Jana (Jerry) Ernst of Rochester, Minn.; his sister, Jackie Ernst of Rochester, Minn., and his grandparents, Delmer (Jean) Smith of Rochester, Minn., and Joe (Jan) Marek of Wabasha, Minn. Joe was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Francis and Harold Blattner, Oscar and Helen Schoenrock, Elmer and Marjorie (Blanchard) Smith and Glenn and Zoe Marek.
