More than fireworks, Abundant Life has games and “North Star Idol” on the 4th |

Celebrate the 4th of July with Abundant Life Assembly of God church in NB Central Park. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with many family activities, games and food. Activities include an improved obstacle course, water wars, and three stage shows, including local comic magician Norm Barnhart.
At 9 p.m. cheer for your favorite contestant in the “North Star Idol” talent contest. A semi-final round of judging was conducted on June 28, and the 6-8 finalists are set to perform. The winner will receive a $100 prize and perform a short show for the roughly 1,500 to 2,000 that gather for fireworks.
Fireworks display at 10 p.m and is expected to last just short of a half-hour.
Activity wristbands for all the games and events, not including water wars are $3.
